BioAdventures: Making Medicine,” a new video created by BTEC, has earned a silver award in the 2026 Telly Awards. The annual Telly Awards program recognizes excellence in video and television across all screens.  BTEC’s short video was honored in the awards competition’s general explainer category, for non-broadcast content produced to simplify complex concepts through engaging visuals.

Available on BTEC’s YouTube channel, “BioAdventures: Making Medicine” explains basic biotechnology concepts and shows how biotechnology is used to create medicine. Intended for a K–6 audience, the video combines live action and animated sequences as it describes how biopharmaceuticals are manufactured. BTEC produced the video as part of its outreach and engagement efforts, which include STEM programs in K-12 education. BTEC supports K-12 science, technology, engineering and math initiatives through its partnerships in programs for both students and educators.

Founded in 1979 to honor local, regional and cable television commercials, with non-broadcast video and television programming added soon after, the Telly Awards have evolved with the rise of digital video to include branded content, documentary, social media, immersive and other formats. Entries are reviewed by a judging body of over 250 executives from television networks, production companies, global agencies, immersive content studios, and streaming platforms around the world.
