Danny Schmitt
Danny Schmitt is a BTEC scientist supporting the Accelerated Innovation in Manufacturing Biologics (AIM-Bio) program. He is involved in the development and delivery of BTEC’s short course program including Analytical Methods for Gene Therapy Vector Characterization and Testing, Hands-On cGMP Biomanufacturing of Vectors for Gene Therapy, and Introduction to Biopharmaceutical Lyophilization and Spray Drying.
Danny completed his master’s degree in microbial biotechnology at NC State and has an extensive background in molecular biology and microbiology. Previously, Danny worked in industry to help develop and characterize novel antimicrobial CRISPR-enhanced bacteriophage cocktails and assisted in early-stage clinical development including pharmacokinetic assay design and implementation.
