Broadening access to biomanufacturing training: BTEC reveals new online microlearning program

In response to a growing demand for flexible continuing education options, BTEC is excited to introduce its new biomanufacturing microlearning program, BTEC Shorts. The online program provides access to over 30 stand-alone lessons, with BTEC continuing to grow the collection over time. Each “Short” takes just 10-15 minutes to complete, and learners can mix and match lessons as desired for the duration of their purchased access period. Topics covered span key biopharmaceutical manufacturing areas, including biopharmaceutical products, upstream and downstream processing, analytical methods, and other industry-specific subjects.

BTEC Shorts is a cost-effective solution for professionals seeking quick, impactful learning opportunities, especially when the commitment of a traditional course may not be possible or necessary for specific roles. Each lesson is crafted to provide relevant knowledge that is immediately applicable in the workplace.

“We understand that many professionals are balancing demanding schedules with the desire to grow in the field”, said Gary Gilleskie, Executive Director of BTEC at NC State University. “BTEC Shorts provides the convenience that busy professionals need, without compromising on quality of learning.”

BTEC Shorts is a part of BTEC’s larger professional development program, which also includes in-person courses offering hands-on learning at BTEC’s state-of-the-art facility on NC State University’s campus. Furthermore, BTEC’s professional program includes open enrollment online courses, in-person custom courses for organizations, and events throughout the year both in-person and virtually.

For a limited time, access to BTEC Shorts will be available at a special introductory discount. To sign up, visit btec.ncsu.edu/shorts.
