Important Information for In-person Course Participants
The following information applies to all in-person courses offered on site at BTEC (does not include online courses).
Payment
BTEC requires payment by credit card at the time of registration. NC State's registration system (REPORTER) accepts payment from all major credit cards including American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.
After registration, an order summary receipt is automatically emailed. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder or log into your account dashboard to download a copy (this is found by clicking 'My Orders', under your name in the top right corner).
Discounts available
A 20% discount is available for NIIMBL members for the following courses:
- Hands-On CGMP Biomanufacturing of Vectors for Gene Therapy
- Hands-on Essentials of Automation for Biomanufacturing
Check out BTEC’s professional development certificate program for an additional way to save money on in-person course costs. Any additional discount questions prior to registration should be directed to Serena Hodge, Industry Training Coordinator, at shodge@ncsu.edu.

Please note that BTEC is unable to honor substitutions for individuals taking discounted courses as part of the professional development certificate program.
Cancellation by BTEC
BTEC retains the right to cancel an in-person course no less than 10 business days in advance of the scheduled course start date. Registrants will be notified by BTEC if a course is cancelled and will receive a full refund of registration fees paid. BTEC is not responsible for airfare penalties or other costs incurred due to cancellation.
Any additional payment questions prior to registration should be directed to mswoodya@ncsu.edu.
Pre-course communication
Upon successful registration for a course, you will receive an automatically-generated email from reporter_registration@ncsu.edu. If you do not receive this email within two business days of registering for a course, please check your spam mailbox. If you are unable to locate the email, please contact shodge@ncsu.edu to confirm your registration.
Once registered, confirmed course participants will receive a series of emails approximately two weeks before the scheduled course with detailed information regarding travel to BTEC, parking information, and a short pre-course questionnaire.
If a course is full: Waitlist policy
NC State's course registration system (REPORTER) has an automated waitlist if a BTEC course is full. If a seat becomes available, the waitlist automatically selects the first person on the list and will email the participant an order summary showing a balance is due. Payment must be made in order to be fully registered for the course and for the participant to attend. REPORTER is unable to share information about an individual's place on the waitlist.
Location
The Golden LEAF BTEC building is located at 850 Oval Drive on NC State University's Centennial Campus.
