Dr. Kurt Selle is the Director of Operations at BTEC and is responsible for the technical and operational oversight of cell line development, small scale and large scale fermentation activities at BTEC. He originally joined BTEC in 2020 as a senior scientist supporting the Accelerated Innovation in Manufacturing Biologics (AIM-Bio) program. Previously, he was a lead scientist and manager at Locus Biosciences and was responsible for establishing a synthetic biology platform for early drug development, intellectual property generation, and clinical readiness of a first-in-class recombinant phage biologic. His research experience bridges the disciplines of bacteriology, phage and CRISPR biology, molecular genetics, biotechnology, and high-throughput data technologies, applying those competencies across probiotic, pathogenic, and fermentative bacteria towards understanding fermentation microbiology and improving human-microbe interactions.
