Contract Services Highlights

Through its contract services program, BTEC provides its extensive expertise in biomanufacturing, along with its facilities, equipment, and staff with biomanufacturing exeperience, to support industry and academic partners from within and outside North Carolina. Since 2009, BTEC has successfully completed more than 220 projects. Examples of recent projects include the following:

  • Production and purification of gene therapy candidates for pre-clinical testing
  • Production of cell culture broth for component testing
  • Resin screening for the development of downstream purification processes for novel peptides for agricultural applications
  • Testing of novel membrane substrates for bacterial growth
  • Screening of production parameters for bacterial expression of novel separations using protein A-like purifications
