BTEC’s facility is a logical location for companies to provide educational presentations that align with BTEC’s scientific and technological focus on biomanufacturing. What kind of event can I hold at BTEC?

Companies and organizations can hold industry tech talks at BTEC that align with BTEC’s scientific and technological focus on biomanufacturing.

When can the event happen?

The event must occur outside of the already scheduled academic and professional development courses at BTEC between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We recommend reaching out 3 months in advance to allow ample time to work out scheduling and for an agreement to be signed.

What type of audience would participate?

Your company is the host of the event and has full control of who you would like to attend, whether that’s current customers, industry professionals, students, university personnel or all. If planning an event for students or university personnel to attend, May-August is not ideal.

What companies have held industry tech talks at BTEC in the past?

  • Culture Biosciences
  • Distek, Inc.
  • Kaye Instruments
  • Kuhner Shaker
  • Lives International
  • Parker Hannifin
  • Scientific Bioprocessing, Inc. (sbi)

Is there a cost to use space at BTEC and do I need to sign a contract?

Yes, cost depends on the length of time for the event and if any BTEC staff support and/or materials are needed. Event details will be discussed in an initial meeting with the company and BTEC staff.

Does my company have the option to purchase catering?

Yes, catering suggestions can be shared with you. Please note BTEC is not responsible for ordering the catering or clean up.

Does BTEC assist with marketing the event?

The company holding the event is primarily responsible for marketing efforts. Upon request, BTEC can assist with promoting the event by sharing the event on social media (one post), including the event in our monthly professional development email (one email and if marketing materials are sent in time), and adding the event to BTEC’s online calendar of events.

Who manages registration for the event?

Your team is responsible for setting up and managing registrations for the event. BTEC requests you cap the registration at the number of people the classroom or auditorium can hold.

Are there any BTEC staff members that assist on the day of the event?

During the contract agreement phase, you may request for a BTEC staff member to assist with event set up. Coordination of catering (if applicable) and clean up must be done by your team members.
