Cell Culture Engineering
Learn key concepts and practical skills in bioprocess development and cell culture engineering in biomanufacturing. Lectures focus on cell culture media and feeding strategies, operational modes (batch, fed-batch, perfusion), bioreactor design (single-use and stainless steel), high-density cell banking, critical process controls, harvest operations, design of experiments (DOE) in process development, glycan analysis by mass spectrometry, and process analytical technology (PAT). Laboratory sessions provide hands-on experience in media preparation and filter integrity testing, single-use and stainless-steel bioreactor operation, rocker bag assembly inoculation and sampling, and high-density cell banking from perfusion cultures.
