Hands-on CGMP Biomanufacturing Operations for Downstream

Participants will obtain a basic knowledge of biomanufacturing operations and how CGMP requirements are implemented in commercial scale. They will examine centrifugation, chromatography, and tangential flow filtration via pilot-scale laboratory experiences.

Attend and You Will

  • Explain the theoretical and operational principles underlying the downstream unit operations for manufacturing biomolecules for medical use
  • Describe CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) expectations for downstream processes
  • List parameters that are monitored and manipulated to ensure that a downstream process meets expectations
  • Calculate step yields for downstream processing operations
